The creator of Rocky Patel little cigars, Mr. Rakesh (Rocky) Patel was born in India in 1961. Initially, Rakesh was a Hollywood lawyer representing the interests of such world-famous stars of the world screen as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Gene Hackman. During work, Patel often watched his clients and their surroundings smoke. He understood their interests to launch the Rocky Patel little cigars. Between actions, the actors often lit cigars. At the end, Rahkesh became very interested in cigar production, sold his legal practice and went to Honduras, where he spent five years. He spent five years in Honduras, devoting himself to working with tobacco, starting with field work and ending with trade. That was precious experience to later produce the Rocky Patel little cigars.
In the mid-1990s, Rocky Patel created his first cigar company – Indian Tabac. In 2002, the company changed its name to Rocky Patel Premium Cigars. In 2003, Rocky Patel launched his first super-premium line of Vintage 1990 and Vintage 1992 of Rocky Patel little cigars. Vintage lines won the “Best of the Best” prize according to Robb Report. The peer review of one of Cigar Aficionado, one of the most reputable cigar publications, was also very high – Vintage 1990 Robusto was rated 92, and later Vintage 1992 Torpedo was rated 90.
In 2006, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars annual sales exceeded $ 25 million. In 2007, the company produced 16 million Rocky Patel little cigars. In 2008, the Rocky Patel Decade line was released, reaching a score of 95 (Cigar Aficionado). This magnificent line was created in honor of the 10th anniversary of Patel’s cigar business. In honor of his 50th birthday, Rocky has released a limited edition series of ultra-premium Fifty cigars. Currently, this line is the most valuable and, accordingly, the most expensive in the Rocky Patel Premium Cigars portfolio. In the second decade of the 21st century, Rocky stepped along with his brother Nimisch. Now in the Patel line there are a lot of cigars signed by Nimish. The family business began to be called the Patel Family.
