Cohiba little cigars are by far the most prestigious cigar brand in the world. Originally made exclusively for Fidel Castro personally, they quickly became state gifts, which made them better known and even more sought-after. In 1967, production was relocated to today’s magnificent “El Laguito” factory in the heart of the “Miramar” district in Havana, which is littered with villas.
Cohiba little cigars have been available to everyone since 1982 – at the beginning the portfolio consisted exclusively of the medium-strength Línea Clásica, later the brand was expanded to include the medium-strength Línea 1492. Since 2007, the wonderfully aromatic and medium-bodied Línea Maduro 5 has complemented the brand. All the wrappers used in the Maduro 5 have been fermented for 5 years, which is why they get a strong, dark color. Since 2010 the super premium line Behike (Línea Behike) complements the standard portfolio of Cohiba little cigars.
Cohiba little cigars BHK are characterized by the fact that an additional, fourth insert tobacco (“Medio Tiempo”) is used. No other Cuban cigar has more than 3 filler tobacco. Cohiba Behike are all extremely powerful and by no means suitable for beginners – a cigar for the experienced Havana smoker. All Cohiba tobacco cigars are triple fermented, so they go through one fermentation process more than any other tobacco. This special treatment makes them the queen of Cuban cigars.
“That is it,” the “Havana par excellence, and therefore also the brand that is classified by many experts as the best from the Caribbean island nation’s cigar production. Whether the Cohiba little cigars are really the best of all depend on taste – and depending on the preferences – of every single aficionado, but there is no doubt that this cigar brand has an aura that is only given to individual formats of other Havana brands. Although it was only created almost 40 years ago, the “Cohiba” has now achieved cult status. This is borne out by the numerous stories of its creation, which are rumored again and again in cigar lover circles – Che Guevara, for example, is said to have been involved in its creation.
